Satsang / Group Meditation

Satsang is a Sanskrit word made up of two words: "sat" means truth and "sang" means together. The literal translation is "finding the truth together."

It is really a coming together to create an uplifting atmosphere and to energize the soul as well as the practice area.

Satsang starts with a silent meditation. The actual meditation duration is about 10 - 15 minutes. The meditation is followed by Kirtan or chanting. The leader sings and everyone else repeats the mantras or devotional songs. The leader then presents a lecture, discourse, or reading of passages.

Satsang is open to all and is highly recommended for uplifting the soul. This adds a spiritual element to your overall Yoga practice.

Satsang is held every other Saturday. Check our schedule for more details. It is recommended that you wear white or light colored clothing for this event, as white is a color of purification. We also ask that you practice silence until after the meditation portion in order to keep the mind free of chatter, which in turn helps in the practice of meditation.
