Aditya Gir
Aditya "Adi" Gir is Founder and Director of Pranoga. Adi was born and raised in India. He was exposed to Yoga and the Vedanta philosophy at an early age. Adi practiced Yoga as a child, but it was short-lived. After finishing high school, he moved to South Florida and pursued a degree and career in computer science (view his professional profile) and graduated from Florida International University (FIU) in Miami. However, he always felt that he had another calling.
After going through a year and half of tough health issues, he finally recovered by doing pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) for just one week. "It was nearly a miracle!", he exclaims. Adi decided to teach a casual class to his friends and found his calling.
Adi's re-introduction to Yoga was in the year 2000, in a course from the Art of Living foundation in Mumbai, India. This foundation emphasizes on the Vedanta philosophy and way of life as well as the practice of a modified version of pranayama called Sudarshan Kriya. In 2007, he then became a certified Pranic Healer (Energy Healer) from the Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation, in Pune, India. His advanced pranayama training was from the Indian Heritage Society, also in Pune, India.

Adi went on to obtain his Yoga teacher's certification from the world-renowned International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. Swami Vishnu-devananda was the founder of this organization and was a pioneer in starting the Yoga Teacher Training Course, or TTC as it is referred to within that organization. The organization is named after his teacher, Swami Sivananda.
Swami Vishnu-devananda's goal was to promote Yoga to the modern world and bring peace in the process. He called his mission True World Order (TWO). This organization has now graduated tens of thousands of Yoga teachers worldwide. Adi trained under Swami Paramananda as well as Swami Sadasivananda and Srinivasan, both direct disciples of Swami Vishnu-devananda. Adi strives to teach in the classical style of Hatha Yoga (the most widely practiced style of Yoga), as taught by his teachers.
